Bernard Frize


Bernard Frize was born in 1954 in Saint-Mandé, France. He studied at l’École Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Montpellier. In 2011 het was awarded the Fred-Thieler-Preis für Malerei and in 2015 the Käthe-Kollwitz-Preis from the Akademie der Künste in Berlin. His work has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions in France and abroad including: Fondation Fernet-Branca, Saint Louis, France; Gulbenkian, Lisbon, Portugal; Berlinische Galerie, Berlin, Germany; Morsbroich Museum, Leverkusen, Germany; Kunsthallen Brandts, Odense, Denmark; Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, UK; Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Paris, France; SMAK, Gent, Belgium, Haags Gemeentemuseum, The Hague, Netherlands. He currently lives and works in Paris and Berlin.
